If you’re coming to the Hunter Valley for the weekend, this is an easy way to plan it without overthinking.
We’ve mapped out a relaxed weekend flow so you can enjoy great food, wine, and downtime — without rushing from place to place.

After arriving and checking into your accommodation on Friday afternoon, ease into the weekend at Entwine’s Evening Food Hub at Calais Estate, Pokolbin.
It’s a relaxed and social way to start your stay, with chef-led food trucks, drinks, and live music all in one place — no bookings required and no driving between venues.
Saturday is the heart of the weekend. Follow the Entwine Food Trail from 10:30am to 2:30pm, starting at Calais Estate and then moving through First Creek Wines, De Bortoli Wines, and Allandale Winery. At each stop, you can enjoy a $30 wine and food tasting, with dishes created by our chefs and paired with a selected wine chosen by each winery — or simply enjoy the food with a glass of wine of your choice instead.
Below is a suggested itinerary to help guide your day, designed to fit easily around your plans so you can move at your own pace.

Start the day at Calais Estate with a relaxed BBQ dish from Stoked BBQ. Expect smoked and grilled flavours with options like pork, salmon, brisket or cauliflower — an easy way to begin the trail alongside your first glass of wine. (Breakfast option available too)
From Calais Estate, head to First Creek Wines for French-inspired comfort food from Aburi Co. Dishes focus on house-made sausages, seasonal vegetables and rich but balanced flavours, designed to pair naturally with First Creek’s wines.
Next, continue to De Bortoli Wines for bold, Asian-inspired street food from Cranky Frankies. Expect savoury dishes such as fried chicken, dumplings, octopus or crispy mushrooms, offering variety and contrast as the trail continues.
Finish the Food Trail at Allandale Winery with Native, highlighting modern Australian flavours and native ingredients. This final stop offers thoughtfully balanced dishes like kangaroo, prawns or eggplant steak, designed as a relaxed wind-down before the trail concludes at 2:30pm.
After the trail, the day is far from over. Stop by the Hunter Valley Chocolate Factory for something sweet, head back to freshen up, have a shower, and get ready for the night. From 5:30pm, the Entwine Food Hub at Calais Estate comes alive with food, drinks, music, and plenty of energy — the perfect way to keep the weekend going and experience even more of what we do.
This itinerary is a guide only. You don’t need to follow the times exactly — feel free to move at your own pace, linger longer at a stop, or skip ahead depending on how your day unfolds.
